OMB Founder: $10M Cornelius brewery plans in jeopardy, legal action likely

Olde Mecklenburg Brewery's plans to expand into Cornelius have hit a major stumbling block. A provision that would have raised the current self-distribution cap to 200,000 barrels has been eliminated from N.C. House Bill 500.
'Our goal was a legislative solution,' says John Marrino, founder of OMB. 'But the legislative avenue is dead and we're not going to pursue it.'
That means the current self-distribution cap of 25,000 barrels is likely to remain in place indefinitely.
